Is my payment secure?

This website is powered by Squarespace, which provides the industry standard in online security. The closed lock on the left of your address bar lets you know you can shop with peace of mind.

Is mohair ethical?

Mohair comes from angora goats. These goats grow long, lustrous locks which must be sheared periodically to ensure the animal's health and comfort. Goats are not harmed in this process. 

What kind of dyes do you use?

We process our hair using only the best acid dyes, formulated specifically for use with protein fibers. Our dyes are lightfast, colorfast, and permanent. While every effort is taken to eliminate excess dye, certain products (soaps, conditioners) that you or your customer might use could cause a slight color bleed. It is always best practice prior to rooting to spray your mohair with the product you are using (including water) and firmly blot with a white paper towel to ensure there is no color runoff.

Where does this product come from?

All Golden Fleece Mohair is processed right here in our home studio in San Antonio, Texas. Raw material is purchased from small, family farms within the United States. Your purchase helps support small businesses across the country! Art and gifts are created here in the studio as well.

Why does my box look used?

It most likely is. Here at Golden Fleece Boutique we do whatever we can to keep the world a little greener, to include re-using boxes and packing material and using minimal packaging.

Do you do custom orders?

Custom orders are processed in the order they are received and must be a minimum of .50oz per color. Due to the lengthy process of turning dirty goat hair into beautiful locks, you may have to wait 1-2 weeks for your order to be finished. (Rush service of 2 days is available for an additional $25.) Contact us so we can determine exactly which type of hair and color is right for your project! The price for custom orders of mohair is $35.00 per .50oz plus a setup fee of $10 per color. Please contact us for rates on pygora and suri alpaca. Payment is due once your mohair is finished and photos are approved. At that time we will email you a PayPal invoice and ship as soon as payment is made. 

What if I'm not happy with my purchase? 

We appreciate your thoughtfulness in minimizing returns so we can keep our costs low and our shipping on orders over $30 free. However, customer service is our top priority! Please click on "shipping and returns" below for details, and always feel free to contact us with any questions or issues.

I forgot to enter the free shipping code at checkout! What do I do? 

If you have completed payment for your purchase of over $30 and forgot to enter the code for free shipping, please contact us at  We will be happy to refund your shipping charge!

We solemnly swear never to sell your information to devious spambots. Your email address and shipping information are used for ordering purposes only. If you sign up for our newsletter and/or Blog updates, you may unsubscribe at any time.
